THE STORY OF PASSOVER IS A STORY OF MIRACLES, COMPASSION AND REDEMPTION.
…I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments…
Why do we gather every year during this time to celebrate this feast of Passover (Pesach) that according to some is a “Jewish feast”? The answer is simple. The Passover Exodus is the watershed event in human history. Many Believers don’t fully comprehend the Passover in the context of the awesome atoning work of God. The truth of the matter is that you cannot fully appreciate our redemption in the Messiah until you understand the ordinance of Passover. All the biblical Feasts and observances were foreshadows of the redemptive work that the Messiah would ultimately accomplish.
One of Messiah’s last earthly acts was the celebration of Pesach. He gathers his disciples in a small room in Jerusalem, and as he was letting them in a traditional seder, he said the following words; “I have really wanted so much to celebrate this Pesach with you” (Luke 22:15). He passed the foods among them It was there, in celebration of the deliverance and freedom from the Egyptian bondage, that Yeshua revealed to them the mystery of the Creators plan of redemption. He spoke to them of his body and blood and the relationship between these two and the New Covenant. He explained to them that he would have to die. The gospel of John uses the Passover as the backdrop for his retelling of the atonement we have received through Yeshua/Jesus our Messiah. This is why we have decided in our hearts to every year around this time we come together to participate in the Passover, may we recall once again God’s great redemption.
Prepare yourself for the Pesach of a lifetime.
